What is a Lewis Shoot?

A Lewis Shoot is a system that was devised to give average shooters a chance to win. After all shooters have finished, their scores are listed from high to low and divided into classes. For example, if there are 75 shooters and five classes, then a line is drawn every 15 scores starting at the bottom – or if there are 75 shooters and four classes, then a line is drawn every 19 scores beginning at the bottom. The top shooters in each class are eligible to win. (Note: This is a simplified explanation.)
